Character Creations

Character Creations is a series of digital drawings of characters I have created over my four years in college. I have always had a passion for character design and creating stories with the characters I come up with. All of my pieces blend serious and whimsical fun together. Whether that be with serious themes done in a fun way or a more silly situation done in a comically serious way.
For this series I wanted to just have fun drawing my characters doing random things like doing their hair or grabbing a coffee. It's all about the aspect of mundanity and how the mundane can be just as fun and whimsical as the crazy action and fight scenes. Really I just wanted to have fun drawing characters that I have come up with and have them doing things that do not seem as exciting as how I usually draw them.
Each character has a special place in my heart as I came up with each one during stressful times as a way to destress and relax. The first one I ever came up with is my character Blaise who is kind of a caricature of myself and how I want to be or how I have felt. Each character has a unique story just like how each person has a unique story to tell. I use myself, my experiences and my friends and their experiences to come up with each character which makes them really special to me.
